What is a DDoS attack and how to protect your web from this attack?

Saturday, September 5, 2020

DDoS is short for Distributed Denial of Service. DoS attack is a special type of attack in which an attacker generates the unusual request and traffic on the targeted system to make it unstable and slowing it down. Generally, an attacker renders traffic in a range as compared to the bandwidth of the target system. When the targeted system overflows due to the consumption of more resources the whole system process slows down and ultimately the targeted system became unstable.

PROTECT YOUR WEB FROM DDoS ATTACK

1. Buy more bandwidth.

2. Spot and block unusual IP address which continuously sends PING packets.

3. Build redundancy into your infrastructure.

4. configure your network hardware against a DDOS attack.

5. Deploy anti-DDOS hardware and software like firewall, SELinux, ids.

6. Protect your DNS server.
